Game Of Thrones Season 5 Episodes Leak, HBO Issues Statement

Now, the internet has been very busy that the first four episodes of Game of Thrones Season 5 has leaked online. On Saturday, the episodes showed up on torrent sites, and the leak was immediately spread to many news sites.

Based on the report in The Hollywood Reporter, the episodes of the famous TV series were downloaded over 100,000 users in the first three hours when it was available online. According to survey, Game of Thrones has been the most-copied TV shows because of its popularity in the pay cable network. The HBO then delivered a statement in response to the incident, “sadly, the four leaked episodes of Game of Thrones came from within the group approved by HBO to receive them. We are keenly evaluating how this break happened.”

However, there are also some fans overjoyed because they simply can download the episodes since they cannot access HBO channel in their countries. The HBO cannot imagine how the leaks will do much damage to the series such as poor viewership on the series. And for some fans that religiously followed the series on HBO, spoilers may be at risk since many people have already watched the four leaked episodes.

It is still too soon to tell that HBO will be greatly affected with this incident. On the bright side, HBO can still be proud of its rating and their fans. Although it is really hard to compete with “free” service but still it is worth it to pay for your favorite content such as Game of Thrones.
